(독일 베를린 및 하노버 2016년 9월 22일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 하노버에서 열린 ‘IAA 미디어의 밤’ 행사에 독일자동차산업협회(German Association of the Automotive Industry, VDA) 회장 Matthias Wissmann은 “올해 국제상용차박람회는 운송, 물류 및 이동성의 미래로 향하는 창을 활짝 열어줄 뿐만 아니라, 자동차 산업이 아이디어라는 원동력으로 추진되고 있음을 보여준다”며 “미래의 상용차는 디지털로 서로 연결될 것이며, 그에 따라 안전성, 효율성 및 안락함이 증대할 것”이라고 말했다. 이어 “마을과 도시에서 상용차의 이점이 더욱 커질 전망”이라며 “마을에서 운행되는 밴과 버스 중 상당수가 전기와 하이브리드 엔진을 사용하기 때문에, 도시 물류에서 배출되는 배기가스의 양도 매우 감소할 전망”이라고 설명했다. 또한, 그는 “문 앞까지 제품을 배달해주는 ‘온라인 사회’의 도래로 상용차에 대한 수요가 그 어느 때보다 커졌다”며 “그 시장은 전 세계적으로 계속 성장할 것”이라고 강조했다. 지금까지 57개국에서 2천 명이 기자가 제66회 국제상용차박람회(IAA Commercial Vehicles)의 취재 승인을 받았다. 21일(언론 공개)에는 전시관과 컨벤션센터에서 70건이나 되는 기자 회견이 열렸고, 22일(언론 공개 및 개막일)에는 30건의 기자 회견이 열릴 예정이다. 제66회 국제상용차박람회에서는 세계적으로 첫선을 보이는 332개 제품과 유럽에서 첫선을 보이는 101개 제품을 선보일 예정이다. 세계에서 가장 중요한 운송, 물류 및 이동성 무역박람회인 국제상용차박람회는 이달 22일부터 진행해 29일에 그 막을 내린다.
하노버에서 열리는 국제상용차박람회에서는 52개국에서 온 2천13개 전시업체가 자사의 최신 개발 제품을 선보인다. 전체 전시업체 중에서 해외 전시업체가 61%를 차지한다. 참가 전시업체 수가 가장 많은 상위 5개국은 중국(229), 이탈리아(145), 네덜란드(121), 터키(92), 프랑스(85)다. 전시업체 3개 중 1개 이상이 유럽(독일 제외) 기업이며, 전시업체 5개 중 1개는 아시아 기업이다.
IAA에서는 상용차의 전체적인 국제 가치사슬을 대변한다. 대형 트럭, 밴과 버스 및 트레일러와 차체 제조업체 외에 수많은 공급업체와 서비스(예: 텔레매틱스) 업체가 참여한다.
올해 IAA에서는 디지털화, 전기 이동성 및 도시 물류와 같은 주제를 더욱 강조하고자 처음으로 이들 주제를 ‘New Mobility World logistics’로 강조하고 있다. New Mobility World logistics의 목적은 미래 설계, 새로운 물류 개념, 전시업체들의 제품과 서비스에 더욱 중점을 두고, 새로운 업체와 방문자 단체의 관심을 사로잡는 것이다. 또한, New Mobility World logistics는 미래 물류와 운송 주제에 대한 승수 효과도 발생시킬 것으로 기대된다.
야외에서 열리는 ‘New Mobility World LIVE’에서는 IAA 방문객에게 역동적인 쌍방향 주행 시범을 볼 수 있는 기회를 제공할 예정이다. 그뿐만 아니라 독점 가이드 투어에서는 전시업체가 참여 방문객에게 혁신을 소개할 예정이다. 그리고 전시 현장에서는 약 20대의 전기 자동차를 시운전해볼 수 있으며, 공도에서는 40대가 넘는 소형 및 대형 상용차도 시운전해볼 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
Wissmann 회장은 “올해 IAA에서는 미래의 광범위한 동력 전달 장치 조합을 선보인다”면서 “장거리 교통(대형 트럭)에서는 디젤이 여전히 핵심적인 역할을 수행할 전망”이라고 밝혔다. 이어 “최신 배기가스 후처리 기술 덕분에 효율성과 경제성뿐만 아니라 환경친화성까지 확보할 전망”이라며 “오늘날 Euro VI 트럭과 버스는 낮은 오염물질 배출도를 보이며, 이처럼 낮은 배출도는 상용차에서 성공적으로 완성됐다”고 설명했다. 또한, 그는 “그러나 도시 물류 동향은 매우 분명하게 대안적인 동력 장치로 이동하고 있으며, 하이브리드 및 전기 자동차가 점점 중요해지고 있다”며 “이는 밴과 버스의 경우도 마찬가지로, 머지않아 지역 유통에 동원되는 대형 트럭도 동일하게 될 것”이라고 강조했다.
미디어의 밤 행사에서는 2004년 이후 7번째로 상용차 부문에서 가장 유명한 국제상 세 개가 수여되었다. 바로 ‘올해의 트럭’, ‘올해의 버스’, ‘올해의 밴’ 상이 그것이다. 각 심사위원단은 유럽에서 유명한 상용차 언론인과 편집장으로 구성됐으며, 이들은 수많은 테스트를 통해 이들 제품의 진가를 시험했다. ‘2017년 국제 올해의 트럭 상’은 Scania ‘S-series’가 수상했고, ‘2017년 국제 올해의 버스 상’은 Solaris Urbino가 수상했다. 그리고 ‘2017년 국제 올해의 밴 상’은 VW Crafter가 수상했다.

It shows that we are driven by ideas. The commercial vehicles of tomorrow will be digitally connected. That will bring more safety, more efficiency and more comfort. The advantages of commercial vehicles will be even greater in towns and cities. Urban logistics will become ever-more emissions-free because many of the vans and buses operating in towns will use electric and hybrid drive. The 'online society' that has goods delivered to the door needs commercial vehicles more than ever. The market will continue to grow worldwide," stressed Matthias Wissmann, President of the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA), in Hannover at the "IAA Media Night." He was speaking to more than 600 international representatives of the commercial vehicle industry and the media.
Over 2,000 journalists from 57 countries have been accredited for the 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles. On Wednesday (Press Day) a good 70 press conferences were held in the halls and in the Convention Center, and another 30 will follow on September 22 (Press and Opening Day). The 66th IAA Commercial Vehicles is presenting 332 world premieres and 101 European premieres. A total of 2,013 exhibitors from 52 countries are displaying their latest developments in Hannover. Foreign exhibitors make up 61 percent. The five best-represented countries are China (229 exhibitors), Italy (145), the Netherlands (121), Turkey (92) and France (85). Just over one exhibitor in three comes from Europe (not including Germany), and one in five comes from Asia.
The entire international value-creation chain for commercial vehicles is represented at the IAA: manufacturers of heavy trucks, vans and buses, trailers and bodies, plus the many supply firms and providers of services (e.g. telematics).
To accentuate the innovation topics of digitization, electric mobility and urban logistics even more, for the first time at the IAA Commercial Vehicles they are being highlighted as the "New Mobility World logistics." This new initiative aims to put a stronger focus on the future designs, new logistics concepts, offers and services from the exhibitors, and to engage the interest of new companies and visitor groups. The New Mobility World logistics is also a multiplier for future logistics and transportation topics.
The "New Mobility World LIVE" on the open-air site offers plenty of action in dynamic and interactive driving demonstrations. In addition, exhibitors are presenting innovations to trade visitors during the exclusive Guided Tours. Furthermore, about 20 electric vehicles are available for test drives on the exhibition grounds, along with over 40 light and heavy-duty commercial vehicles for test drives on the public roads.
Wissmann emphasized: "When it comes to powertrains we will experience a broad mix in the future. Diesels will continue to play a key role in long-distance traffic - that is, among heavy trucks. The latest exhaust after-treatment technology makes them not only efficient and economical, but also clean. Today's Euro VI trucks and buses have only very low pollutant emissions, whose reduction has now been successfully completed in commercial vehicles. However, the trend in urban logistics is very clearly moving toward the alternative powertrains. Hybrid and electric vehicles are becoming more and more important. This is true of vans and buses - and soon it will also apply to heavy trucks in local distribution."
At the Media Night three of the most renowned international awards in the commercial vehicle business were presented for the seventh time since 2004: the "Truck of the Year", the "Bus of the Year" and the "Van of the Year." Each of the juries is comprised of well-known commercial vehicle journalists and editors-in-chief from across Europe, who put the products through their paces in numerous tests. "International Truck of the Year 2017" was the Scania "S-series". The "International Bus of the Year 2017" award went to the Solaris Urbino. The winner of the "International Van of the Year 2017" was the VW Crafter.
