(살로우, 스페인 2016년 10월 16일 PRNewswire=연합뉴스) 폭스바겐 드라이버 Sebastien Ogier(32/F)와 그의 공동 드라이버 Julien Ingrassia(36/F)가 스페인 랠리에서 우승하며 사상 네 번째로 FIA WRC(World Rally Championship, WRC) 타이틀을 거머쥐었다. 이 프랑스 2인조는 이번 시즌 제11라운드에서 두 레이스를 남겨둔 상황에서 폭스바겐 폴로 R WRC로 챔피언이 됐다. 이로써 이들은 2013년, 2014년 및 2015년에 이어 4년 연속 챔피언에 올랐다.

Volkswagen Driver Sebastien Ogier Wins Fourth World Rally Championship
SALOU, Spain, October 16, 2016/PRNewswire/ -- Volkswagen driver Sebastien Ogier (32/F) and his co-driver Julien Ingrassia (36/F) won the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC) for the fourth time with a victory at the Rally Spain. Round 11 of the season saw the French duo wrap up the title with two races still to come to be crowned world rally champions in the Volkswagen Polo R WRC for the fourth year in a row, having previously won in 2013, 2014 and 2015.

"Winning the world championship again is a fantastic feeling," said an overjoyed Ogier at the end of the Rally Spain. "This is the fourth world championship title for Julien and me, but it never stops feeling special. The Rally Spain also represented a milestone for the Polo R WRC: the car's 50th start in the World Rally Championship ended with win number 41 for the 318-hp, four-wheel drive powerhouse. No other car in the history of the World Rally Championship has racked up as many victories in such a short time as the Polo. The Manufacturers' Championship will be decided in one of the two rallies still to come with Volkswagen leading with 62 points from Hyundai.
