TAIYUAN, China Dec 30, 2024 /AsiaNet=YONHAP/-- Recently, the electricity load in Shanxi Province has surged, and the maximum power load reached a record high of 44.088 million kilowatts. At present, the Shanxi power grid is running smoothly, and the power supply for both in-province electricity consumption and power transmission outside the province is safe, orderly and reliable.
Since the beginning of winter, State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company has been closely following weather changes, focusing on improving the prediction accuracy in severe climates such as extremely cold and windless weather, as well as sleet and freezing conditions, and making every effort to conduct a good analysis of the balance between power and electricity quantity. The company has followed the "one plant, one policy" to formulate the peak power generation scheme for thermal power units, and stabilized the basic plate of thermal power supply. The company has actively served the grid connection of new power sources to ensure that they are "put into operation as long as they should be". By the end of November, the newly added installed power generation capacity was 9.6443 million kilowatts. The company has strengthened the operation control of heavy-load equipment, important sections, and the power flow of tie lines, and enhanced the special patrol and special protection of power transmission and transformation equipment to ensure the safe and stable operation of the power grid. At the same time, State Grid Shanxi Electric Power Company continued to improve the grid structure, completed and put into operation 15 key projects to ensure reliable power supply during the peak winter load in 2024, and improved the power supply capacity of 9 cities by about 3 million kilowatts.
It has also completed the anti-icing transformation of 41 lines passing through micro-topography and micro-meteorology area, equipped 151 power lines with 214 sets of ice-watching elf devices and 84 sets of fog-penetrating visual devices, thus accelerating the improvement of Shanxi power grid's ability to cope with sleet and freezing disasters.
