LINYI, China May 15, 2025 /AsiaNet=YONHAP/-- Just after 10 a.m. on Saturday, a vibrant scene unfolded in the camping area of Qishi Cultural Park in Feixian County, Shandong Province. Tents of all shapes and sizes sprung up like mushrooms after the rain, while kites soared in the breeze and children's laughter filled the air. Activities such as camping, picnicking, and hiking - once considered niche - have become mainstream, revitalizing rural tourism and boosting cultural development.

"In response to the growing demand in the cultural tourism market, we prioritized the development of this dedicated camping area during the park's recent upgrades. We now offer rentals for camping and barbecue equipment, making it easy for visitors to enjoy a lightweight camping experience," said Shi Xin, a spokesperson for Qishi Cultural Park. According to Shi, foot traffic in the park has surged since the beginning of the year, with a notable increase in bookings for campsites and equipment. Other attractions such as rafting, the non-powered amusement park, cultural and creative shops, and tea restaurants are also drawing large crowds, with per capita spending on the rise.

Meanwhile, the Yunpu Dongtian Scenic Area is bustling with visitors. Hundreds of blooming hydrangeas form vibrant clusters of color, creating a dreamlike atmosphere reminiscent of Monet's garden. In the heart of the scenic area, classic characters such as Nezha and Monkey King interact with guests, while dancers in traditional Hanfu costumes perform gracefully. A bustling handicraft market featuring intangible cultural heritage items and immersive experiences keep visitors fully engaged.

"To deliver ever-evolving cultural and tourism experiences, we are actively exploring the Flower + model," said Liu Na, general manager of the Yunpu Dongtian Scenic Area. "By leveraging our mountain and lakeside resources, we have created new offerings such as a camping zone, lakeside cycling trails, and immersive fishing areas. These initiatives blend traditional spring outings with modern leisure activities, transforming the short-lived flower-viewing season into a sustainable engine for cultural tourism."

"We've also designed a series of thematic tourism check-in spots focused on flower viewing, educational tours, intangible heritage, and agricultural experiences. Visitors can do more than admire the flower fields -- they can engage with local culture and heritage, turning the scenic appeal of summer into tangible economic value," Liu added.

Since the beginning of this year, Feixian County has revitalized its tourism sector by integrating scenic resources and innovating cultural tourism models. This not only enriches the visitor experience but also injects strong momentum into the local economy. A new chapter in Feixian's flourishing cultural tourism development is steadily unfolding.
