LINYI, China Jun 30, 2025 /AsiaNet=YONHAP/-- At the hillside peach orchard in Fengjiazhuangzi Village, Andi Town, Yinan County, Shandong Province, the trees are lush and thriving. Branches are heavy with plump, bright-red honey peaches. Local farmers and hired locals are busy harvesting the fruit. What was once barren land has now become a "fruit mountain," boosting the village's prosperity.
"This place used to be a desolate hill," said Feng Qishan, smiling at the sight of branches heavy with fruit. "After extensive research and evaluation of the area's topography and climate, we decided to plant honey peaches. I planted 30 mu of peach trees this year, and we expect a yield of 1,500 to 2,000 jin per mu. At a market price of 3 yuan per jin, it's looking very promising!" Feng said. The orchard mainly cultivates premium varieties such as "Tuwei," "Youpan No. 5," and "Qiutong," each with its own unique flavor to meet different tastes and market needs.
Fengjiazhuangzi Village is located at the foot of Menglianggu Mountain, Andi Town, Yinan County, where sandy soil, spring water, and abundant sunlight create ideal conditions for growing sweet, crisp peaches with tender flesh. Currently, the village has over 260 farming households cultivating more than 3,100 mu of peach orchards.
The honey peach industry has not only directly increased the incomes of peach growers but has also helped lift many local villagers out of poverty. "Next, we will continue exploring new varieties to improve both the quality and yield of our peaches to further boost local incomes. We're committed to making honey peaches a truly sweet industry for our people," said Feng Qingsong.
